Playa Grande offers one of the most consistent surf breaks in Costa Rica, perfect for all levels of surfing. Beginners can learn safely in the white water while for more advanced surfers, a short walk down the beach takes you to the main surf break which is one of the premium surfing waves in Costa Rica.
Surf lessons
As Playa Grande is a high tide surf spot the surfing hours are dictated by the tide and change daily.
So do our surf lessons, which are planned around a combination of the tide and the surfers experience. From newbies to semi- professional surfers or seasoned long- boarders, we can help.
We offer 2 hour group lessons. There is a maximum student instructor ratio of 5 to 1 to ensure you can learn to surf in a fun and safe way. Private lessons are also possible.
Onsite Board Rentals and Surf School
We have a wide selection of surfboards to accommodate all levels of surfer which guests are able to rent per day.
Our onsite Surf School offers group and private lessons as well as week long surf camps where guests can improve their surf skills or to be given a safe and fun introduction into the world of surfing on one of Costa Ricas best surf breaks.
